Ambassador, Archil Kalandia participated in the fifth Forum of Cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the People's Republic of China, Archil Kalandia, participated in the fifth Forum of Cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries, which was held in the city of Cangzhou on November 13-14, 2023.


The Ambassador met with Deng Li, China's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. Archil Kalandia once again expressed the desire of the Georgian side to receive observer status in the format of cooperation between China and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. Deng Li confirmed China's support to the Ambassador. The parties agreed to continue consultations on the mentioned issue with Eastern and Central European states regarding the timely granting of the appropriate status to Georgia.

The framework for collaboration between China and Central and Eastern European nations was established in 2012 and serves as a trans-regional partnership platform between China and European states, including Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Croatia, Greece, Slovenia, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Serbia, Bosnia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Albania. This platform aims to foster the expansion of trade and economic cooperation between China and Europe.
