Embassy of Georgia to the People`s Republic of China

The President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, and the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, exchanged letters to congratulate each other on the 34th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Georgia and China and reached a joint decision to elevate Georgia-China relations to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership.

On June 1-5, 2026, the Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, Givi Mikanadze, together with the delegation of the Ministry, paid a visit to the People's Republic of China.

On June 4, 2026, at the initiative of the Chinese side, at the Georgian Embassy in Beijing, Ambassador Paata Kalandadze held a meeting with Director General of the International Relations Department of the Ministry of Transport of the People's Republic of China, Mr. Yue Guoyong.

On 29 May 2026, the Embassy of Georgia to the People's Republic of China hosted a reception dedicated to Georgia’s Independence Day at The St. Regis Beijing in Beijing.

On May 26, 2026, in Zhaoqing, Guangdong Province, China, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia, Paata Kalandadze, participated in the opening ceremony of the Georgian Cultural Center named after Lao Jinjao (Liu Zhongzhou), the founder of tea culture in Georgia.

On May 25, 2026, in Shanghai, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia, Paata Kalandadze attended an event organized by the Georgian National Tourism Administration, dedicated to Georgia’s participation as a partner country in ITB China 2026 (May 26-28, Shanghai).
