Professional Experience

Since 1986 he is a career diplomat serving his country in various positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia as well as abroad. H.E. Ambassador Paata Kalandadze’s most notable career achievements started from year 2000, since when he held following key positions:

2024 - Present - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the People's Republic of China

2019 - 2023 - Ambassador P. Kalandadze is appointed as the first resident Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Georgia to the UAE.

Since 2009 Ambassador P. Kalandadze served as the Consul General of Georgia in Trabzon (Republic of Turkey) and as the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Georgia to Israel, Republic of Kazakhstan and Republic of Kirgizstan.

2008 - 2009 - Director of the Consular department of the MFA of Georgia 

2007 - 2008 - Deputy Director of the Consular Department of the MFA Georgia

2006 - 2007 -  Deputy Director of the European Department of MFA

2005 - 2006 - Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Benelux Countries

2002 - 2006 - Deputy Head of the Georgian Mission to the EU in Brussels

2002 - Director of the EU Relations Department of MFA 

Education

In 1984 he graduated from the Georgian State Institute of Foreign languages with MA in English language and literature.

Accomplishments

Ambassador P. Kalandadze is honored by the Order of the Chief Commander of the Guard of the St. Sepulcher and by the First Degree of Order of the Independence of the UAE.
