Visit of the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia to the People’s Republic of China.

From 18 to 20 May 2026, Shalva Papuashvili, Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, together with a parliamentary delegation, paid an official visit to the People’s Republic of China.

Within the framework of the visit, meetings were held with Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China, and Wang Huning, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference.

In Shaanxi Province, the Speaker of the Parliament met with Zhao Yide, Secretary of the CPC Shaanxi Provincial Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Shaanxi Provincial People’s Congress.

A meeting was also held with Ambassador Wang Shiting, Secretary of the CPC Committee of China Foreign Affairs University, during which the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia delivered a lecture to students and representatives of the academic community.
