The Ambassador paid a working visit to Guangzhou, Guangdong Province

On September 11, 2026, H.E. Mr. Paata Kalandadze, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the People’s Republic of China, paid a working visit to Guangzhou, Guangdong Province.

During the visit, the Ambassador of Georgia met with Mr. Guo Dajie, Director-General of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province. The sides discussed opportunities for further deepening cooperation in the field of tourism between Georgia and Guangdong Province.

On the same day, Ambassador Paata Kalandadze attended the opening ceremony of the China (Guangdong) International Tourism Industry Expo (CITIE 2026). During the exhibition, the Ambassador visited the Georgian pavilion presented by the Belt and Road Georgia Business House.

CITIE is one of China’s major international tourism exhibitions. In 2026, the exhibition brought together representatives from nearly 50 countries and regions, more than 100 tourism destinations, and over 1,200 companies operating in the culture and tourism sectors.
