Visit of the Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia to the People's Republic of China

On June 1-5, 2026, the Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, Givi Mikanadze, together with the delegation of the Ministry, paid a visit to the People's Republic of China.

As part of the visit, meetings were held with the Deputy Minister of Education of the People's Republic of China, Ren Youqun, Director of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation, Yu Yunfeng, Secretary of the Party Committee of the International Youth Exchange Center, Liu Aiping, Chairman of the Board of Peking University, He Guangcai, Party Secretary of Beijing Polytechnic University, Dong Zhujuan, President of Beijing Foreign Studies University, Jia Wenjian, and students of the Georgian Language and Kartvelology program of the same university. An agreement on Chinese language education was also signed between the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia and the Center for Language Education and Cooperation. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the People's Republic of China, Paata Kalandadze, also attened the meetings with the delegation.
