Ambassador’s Meeting at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China (MARA)

Beijing, February 10, 2026 – The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia, H.E. Paata Kalandadze, held a working meeting with Wei Zhenglin, Director General of the Department of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People's Republic of China (MARA).

During the meeting, the parties discussed the contribution of agricultural products to the positive trade dynamics observed in 2025. It was noted that the export of Georgian agro-products to the Chinese market is experiencing steady growth, which is a direct result of the effective implementation of the Free Trade Agreement between the two nations. The Chinese side highly commended the quality of Georgian wine, hazelnuts, and other niche agricultural products.

Expectations were expressed that 2026 will mark a qualitatively new stage in bilateral relations within the agricultural sector. At the conclusion of the meeting, the sides agreed to maintain close and efficient communication between the Embassy and MARA.
