Concerts of the Ensemble "Erisioni" were held in Beijing
On June 11, 2026, in Beijing, within the framework of the “Georgian Culture Day”, organized by the Embassy of Georgia in the People’s Republic of China, with the support of the Georgian and Chinese Ministries of Culture and Tourism, a concert of the Georgian State Academic Ensemble of Song and Dance “Erisioni” was held at the “China Central Opera House”.
Before the performance, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the People’s Republic of China, Paata Kalandadze, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech.
The Chinese audience met Georgian polyphony, national dances and the rich folklore heritage of Georgia with outstanding interest and ovations. The program presented by “Erisioni” introduced the audience to the diversity of Georgian culture, traditions and unique creativity of the Georgian people.
It is noteworthy that within the framework of the aforementioned perfomance, cooperation between "Erisioni" and the Chinese folklore collective “China Oriental Performing Arts Group” was successfully implemented, in particular, a musical number by the aforementioned Chinese collective was also performed.
The concert was attended by representatives of Chinese state agencies, the diplomatic corps, the cultural sphere, academic circles and the business sector, as well as Georgian citizens living in China and friends of Georgian culture.
On 13 and 14 June, within the framework of the Beijing Art Season Festival, the Georgian State Academic Ensemble “Erisioni” held concerts at the renowned contemporary art venue, the 798 Art Zone in Beijing. The audience had the opportunity to experience the unique traditions of Georgian music, dance, and polyphonic singing. Following the concerts, a Georgian dance masterclass was held, which made a strong impression on those in attendance.
