A reception to celebrate Georgia's Independence Day

A reception to celebrate Georgia's Independence Day took place at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beijing on June 9, 2023. Prior to the event, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Georgia, Archil Kalandia, and the Special Representative of the Government of the People's Republic of China for Eurasian Affairs, Li Hui, conducted a face-to-face meeting.

During the event, in his speech Ambassador Kalandia highlighted Georgia's European aspirations and discussed the country's path after regaining independence, as well as the increasing bilateral trade and economic cooperation with China. Li Hui emphasized the importance of strengthening friendly and partnership relations with Georgia.

At the reception, the "Angel Choir" children's vocal choir performed songs that were specifically prepared for the event, including Georgian songs. The event showcased the products of approximately 40 Georgian wine companies, such as "Telavi Wine Cellar," "Dugladze," "Tamada," "Tears of Pheasants," "Khareba," "Kindzmarauli Cellar," "Teleda," "Tbilgvino," "Chateau Kvareli," and "Mosmieri."

Additionally, a selection of visual videos showcasing the economic prospects of Georgia was screened, which were curated by "Enterprise Georgia" and "Blumberg Media Group.

"Representatives from various sectors, including Chinese state agencies, businesses, cultural organizations, media outlets, academic institutions, accredited diplomatic missions in Beijing, and the Georgian diaspora, were present at the event.
