Signing of the Friendship Agreement between the City of Rustavi and the City of Shaoquan
On March 26-28, 2025, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia, Paata Kalandadze, was on a working visit to the city of Shaoquan, Guangdong Province where on March 27, the signing ceremony of the “Friendship Agreement between the City of Rustavi of Georgia, Kvemo Kartli Region, and the City of Shaoquan, Guangdong Province, People’s Republic of China” was held.
The agreement was signed on the Georgian side by the Mayor of the City of Rustavi Municipality, Nino Latsabidze, and on the Chinese side by the Mayor of the City of Shaoquan, Chen Zhiqing.
At the forum held on the same day, the parties discussed the prospects for future cooperation between the aforementioned cities on the basis of twinning.
The City of Shaoguan is located in the northern part of Guangdong Province, China, and is a prefecture-level city with a population of 3.36 million and a GDP of 24.1 billion US dollars.
