Embassy Holds Reception on Georgia's Independence Day
On May 23, 2025, the Embassy of Georgia in Beijing hosted an official reception dedicated to Georgia's Independence Day at the St. Regis Beijing Hotel.
The event opened with the national anthems of Georgia and China. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the People's Republic of China, Paata Kalandadze, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. In his speech, the Ambassador spoke about the historical significance of Georgia's independence and the friendly relations between Georgia and China. On behalf of the host country, Director-General of the Department of Eurasian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, Mr. Liu Bin, delivered a speech, noting that in recent years, China–Georgia relations have been developing dynamically within the framework of strategic partnership.
A cultural program was presented as part of the event: the Georgian folklore ensemble “Basiani” performed traditional compositions, and the Chinese children's choir “ANGEL CHOIR” performed the Georgian song “Ano and Vano”. Guests also had the opportunity to taste Georgian wine and traditional dishes. Georgian wine stands were presented at the event space, where products from about 20 Georgian companies were exhibited.
The reception was attended by representatives of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, various agencies of the Chinese central and local governments, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in China, international organizations and academic circles, as well as invited guests from the business and cultural spheres, media representatives and representatives of the Georgian diaspora living in China.
